FAKUMA 2012: World-Class Plastics Processing
The FAKUMA international trade fair for plastics processing celebrated its 30th anniversary with a record-breaking event in the fall of 2011: 1672 exhibitors from 33 countries presented their companies on 915,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space and fully occupied the entire Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre. With 44,823 expert visitors from 119 countries, 30% of whom came from outside of Germany (as opposed to 23% in 2009), FAKUMA 2011 has once again achieved top scores. As the world’s most important plastics trade fair in 2011, it has thus more than lived up to the expectations of the industry at all levels.
Inspired by sensational results in 2011, FAKUMA is now preparing for the next event which will take place once again at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre from the 16th through the 20th of October, 2012.
FAKUMA – a Permanent Fixture in the Industry
FAKUMA has evolved into the Mecca of the European plastics industry in the non-“K” years. With its venue in Friedrichshafen, it’s located at the heart of the industry’s European centre and offers world-class, comprehensive offerings covering all aspects of injection moulding technology – and in this area FAKUMA is plainly the world’s number one trade fair – as well as extrusion and thermoforming, for which the event also plays a leading role. Whether raw materials, processing machines, peripherals, automation solutions or C technology is involved – FAKUMA functions as a source of information and ideas, and as a trend barometer, at the same time retaining its very special, personal and relaxed atmosphere.
FAKUMA at its Best: FAKUMA 2011 Surpasses All Expectations
“FAKUMA at its best! As the largest trade fair for plastics in the German speaking countries in 2011, FAKUMA was once again the highlight of our trade fair presentations this year, and it’s our favourite event!” This is the way that Elmar Schröter, managing director of RESINEX GERMANY GmbH, summed up the trade fair, and its entirely representative of the overall mood at FAKUMA’s anniversary event in 2011. The fact that the trade fair’s original exhibitors see things this way too is confirmed by Dipl.-Ing. Helmut Gries, director of sales and marketing at gwk Gesellschaft Wärme Kältetechnik mbH, when he stresses, “FAKUMA is traditionally one of our top trade fairs. Against this backdrop, we rate FAKUMA 2011 as the best FAKUMA we’ve ever experienced. Everything was just right: the quantity and the quality of the visitors, as well as their internationalism. Never before have we taken so many orders directly at the event.” FAKUMA is kicking off its preparations for the next round in top form against this extremely positive backdrop.
FAKUMA 2012: Dealing with Future Issues in Top Form
FAKUMA 2011 plainly demonstrated that conservation of resources, lightweight design engineering and energy efficiency are currently the central issues which will provide the industry with enormous opportunities for the future. With the tremendous potential offered by its outstanding market position, FAKUMA 2012 will support all market players as a world-class industry meeting place, “plastics technology ambassador” and “trailblazer for solutions with plastics”. Forward-looking forums, workshops and special shows will round out the spectrum of offerings at FAKUMA 2012 in the usual, time-tested manner.
