Freedom of design high. Costs down. Sustainable.

Statement by LEONHARD KURZ on #Fakuma2020

What is the main focus of the trade fair for your company this year?

KURZ will present innovative design and functional solutions for the automotive, consumer electronics, household appliances and health & beauty industries at FAKUMA 2020. A highlight at the KURZ booth will be the live presentation of the hybrid machine for hot stamping decoration and digital printing from the Kurz subsidiary Baier. The machine has been developed to efficiently realize decors and markings for various model series, small series and individualized products.

Of course, we will also be presenting KURZ solutions for sustainable and highly efficient product design, as well as the machine integration of touch sensors on plastic components.

What significance does the Fakuma have for your company?

For us, FAKUMA is an important platform for the plastics processing industry. We present new products and innovations to our customers and interested industry experts here. FAKUMA has been an important date in our trade fair calendar for many years now.

How do you rate the benefits of the Fakuma for expert visitors?

From practical experience for practical experience, the experts will be providing advice on innovations and trends. Anyone who wants to know what's new on the market for plastics processing and above all decoration should visit FAKUMA. Concrete solutions to your questions regarding design and functional solutions will be available directly at the KURZ booth.

Topics related to climate and environmental protection will be discussed on a broad front. In your opinion, can the plastics processing industry make a contribution to this?

In the coming years, the plastics industry should increasingly focus on thinking in terms of recycling, because we believe that this is the key to environmental and resource protection.

A worldwide uniform definition of recycling must be created, but energy efficiency in production and optimization of global logistics processes should also become more transparent. As a global player, KURZ stands by its responsibility to leave a better world behind for our children and grandchildren. Our guiding principle: Design for Recycling.

We research products and processes to make a holistic recycling cycle a reality. Our goal is to benefit our customers: great freedom of design and efficient costs. Together with our customers we develop, for example, plastic decorations that do not impair the recyclability of the products.

Recycled materials can also be refined just as creatively and with the same high quality as new materials and can thus be reintegrated into the product cycle. Of course, sustainability is also a question of technology, so that products can be created at marketable prices.
