DM-qode
matriq's patented DynamicMold (DM) marking technology makes it possible to mark plastic components individually directly in the forming or primary forming process (e.g. injection molding). Downstream processes such as laser marking or labeling are no longer necessary. The marking is used to serialize products for traceability, quality assurance and the circular economy.
Our new product is DM-qode, a small 8mm mold insert that is used during the molding process applies an individual, camera-readable 2D code to each injection-molded component. This is done in fractions of a second, regardless of the process and regardless of the machine. Marking is done autonomously thanks to built-in sensors that detect the melt. No additives are needed either.
DM-qode is embedded in the respective mold cavity as a mold insert, such as a temperature and pressure sensor, and connected to a small electronics box at the edge of the mold. The component marking takes place entirely during the actual injection molding process, so the process time remains unchanged.
