Zero-defect production

Ask any producer of packaging what the ultimate goal in production is and most likely the answer will be :” 100% quality and zero-defect production “ In order to reach this goal a reliable process control is needed and this can be done with so-called smart moulds

On the smart mould piezoelectric sensors are installed. These sensors use the piezoelectric effect to measure changes in pressure, acceleration, temperature, strain, or force by converting them to an electrical charge.

The prefix piezo- is Greek for 'press' or 'squeeze'. So why, as a Greek mould maker, not make use of this technique. Lately Bazigos has been implementing thermocouple and pressure sensors in its moulds with great success and results in Industry 4.0 environments. These sensors measures melt material temperature and cavity pressure as well .

The smart moulds lead to new applications and greater process gains
These systems control the injection molding process and balance the hot runner system in line with the mold cavity pressure – no matter which machines, moulds and peripherals you are using.

All relevant quality data is fully documented in order to boost efficiency in your production department.
Faulty parts can be automatically detected and can eventually be separated by a robot and this leads to lower quality costs.

All information can be processed on-site at the mould. Should deviations from the target values occur, than they can be corrected immediately. Correct sequence and performing of work steps can be specified and can than be controlled by the mould itself. This so that the operator at any give time knows that the work steps have been carried out correctly and which ones will be next.

Of course in the Industry 4.0 era this can be monitored on remote through an app.
