Live Production

At this year's Fakuma, we showcase a well-thought-out concept for sustainable plastic parts. An example of this is a clip that eliminates the need for metallic spring components while still ensuring secure fastening. The material used, Leonhard Kurz PET recyclate RECOPUND®, plays a crucial role. The PIR (Post Industrial Recyclate) compound material is based on PET transfer carrier film remnants from the graphic industry, which accumulate when applying thin decorative and functional layers to products. Kurz actively reclaims these carrier films through the RECOSYS take-back process and processes them into new plastic granules, marketed under the brand name "RECOPOUND®."

The production of the high-quality clip is achieved as a free-falling plastic component on a fully electric TOYO Europe injection molding machine, model Si-50-6s D75E. Visitors to the DECKERFORM booth can enhance the clip through on-site hot stamping and take it home as a giveaway, demonstrating the benefits of the powerful thin-layer technology.

Elegant Appearance Despite Recyclate

In collaboration with Leonhard KURZ, we demonstrate the production of the Doortrim using our Toyo Europe machines. This passively foam-injected interior door panel with in-mold decoration is manufactured live at Fakuma on a fully electric TOYO injection molding machine, model Si-350-6s with injection unit J450HE and a 60mm screw.

The transfer decoration, provided by LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co. KG, which contributes to the elegant appearance and is back-molded into the tool, is applied using a foil feeding device also supplied by LEONHARD KURZ Stiftung & Co. KG.
