Prototype production: Mold insert in 3D process on electric injection molding machine
At PlastiVation Machinery GmbH's booth 3215 in hall B3, the electric Tederic NEO-E60/e110 injection molding machine will be producing in a reusable and 3D printed mold. A prototype part is produced with a polypropylene that is commonly used in the injection molding process.
SK Industriemodell GmbH is the mold partner. The application is based on the 'Print & Inject' process. TThis can be used to produce 3D-printed tools. These in turn can be used to produce extremely complex or intricate components and prototypes in research and development and prototype construction.
With this approach, prototype construction is no longer dependent on conventional molds. By using xMold high-performance resin from Nexq3D, molds and complex components with undercuts can be produced more cost-effectively. The costs for storage and maintenance of injection molds are also eliminated. Components and prototypes can be produced in almost all standard injection molding materials.
