PCR solutions for PPWR 2030 and ELV – High-quality, certified regranulates as the key to
the circular economy
With the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the new EU End-of-Life Vehicles Regulation (ELV), plastics processing companies are facing one of the biggest changes of the past decades. Mandatory recycled content targets, rising quality requirements and the need to trace material origin call for new strategies across the entire value chain.
This presentation demonstrates how high-quality post-consumer recycled materials (PCR) can already be used successfully today, both economically and technically. Using practical examples, the presentation explains how certified PP and PE regranulates can meet the increasing demands for quality, process reliability and sustainability, whilst also complying with the legal requirements for 2030.
The presentation will focus on:
- Current requirements under the PPWR and ELV, and their implications for plastics processors and OEMs
- Quality requirements for modern PCR regranulates in demanding technical applications
- Certification systems and end-to-end traceability as the basis for robust sustainability evidence
- Technological solutions for producing high-quality regranulates from post-consumer waste
- Practical examples from packaging and automotive applications
- Opportunities and challenges for companies on the path to a functioning circular economy
Participants will gain a concise overview of how regulatory requirements can be translated into marketable products and sustainable competitive advantages. The presentation demonstrates that high-quality, certified PCR regranulates are far more than just a means of meeting statutory quotas – they are set to become a decisive factor for success in the plastics industry of the future.
