Even a minute amount of fine contamination adhering to the image sensor (CCD or CMOS) of an autonomous-driving sensing camera can significantly degrade image quality. In particular, in-vehicle rear-view monitor cameras installed outside the vehicle are constantly exposed to dust and rainwater, so stringent dustproof performance is required to withstand such harsh environments. To prevent the ingress of such contaminants, dust, and water, Yamauchi performs optimal shape design for sealing performance using its proprietary analysis technology and provides dustproof rubber (seal rubber, shield rubber) and gaskets produced through processes with a thorough commitment to cleanliness. Yamauchi also manufactures seal rubber used in the connector sections of wire harnesses. As the shift to EVs (electric vehicles) accelerates, adoption of Yamauchi’s seal rubber, which provides waterproof and dustproof functions, is expanding further. In addition to compression molding and injection molding, we have also introduced liquid silicone rubber molding (LSR molding). Leveraging the rubber molding technologies we have cultivated to date, we meet a wide range of customer needs by selecting the optimal products and molding methods according to requirements.
