Grinova WLS weld line strength – Strength becomes a cost advantage

Grinova WLS combines high weld line strength with reduced notch sensitivity, enabling safe, lightweight and cost-efficient highly loaded components. Compared with standard PPA, Grinova WLS offers around 30% higher weld line strength. This enables wall thicknesses to be reduced by up to 25% and component costs by around 20%. Alternatively, component performance can be increased – with up to 30% higher burst pressure or up to 40% larger component diameters at the same wall thickness.
More strength at critical points
Weld lines are a weak point in injection-molded, fiber-reinforced components. Grinova WLS provides higher strength in these areas, enabling more robust designs. Even after demanding water and glycol aging, the material achieves up to 68% higher pressure cycling resistance than standard PPA. With a defined notch radius of 1 mm transverse to the fiber direction, tensile strength is 57% higher than standard PPA.
Less material, greater design freedom
At the same load, wall thickness can be reduced by up to 25%. This reduces material use, weight and component costs while shortening cooling time. Alternatively, up to 30% higher burst pressure or up to 40% larger component diameters provide greater design freedom.
Developed for demanding applications
Grinova WLS is suitable for highly loaded injection-molded components and applications involving hot water or water-glycol mixtures, including valve blocks, manifolds, pump and meter housings, and connectors.
From material performance to a validated component
EMS-GRIVORY supports customers from material selection and design through CAE optimization and testing to series production.
