FAKUMA Product News: HEICO-FORM Inserts - Standardized Sleeves for Plastic Components

At FAKUMA, HEICO presents two standardized sleeve types as a cost-effective alternative to individually manufactured custom parts. The HEICO-FORM Inserts are available at short notice, reducing technical coordination and procurement effort.

Two types for different requirements

Steel sleeves perform important mechanical functions in plastic components. In bolted joints, they absorb clamping forces and limit compression of the plastic material. This helps reduce the risk of deformation and damage, particularly during repeated assembly and disassembly.

Both HEICO-FORM Inserts are made of quenched and tempered steel, property class 8.8, and are available for metric screw sizes M3 to M12. They feature a standard zinc-nickel (ZnNi) coating and are available in defined length increments.

Type A features an integrated central collar that acts as a retention feature during plastic overmolding, ensuring the sleeve remains securely positioned in the plastic component.

Type B features a central collar with an external octagonal profile. The positive-locking engagement prevents unwanted sleeve rotation, even under high loads and tightening torques.

In addition to the standard types, HEICO manufactures customized cold forging parts from a range of materials, including steel, aluminum and stainless steel.

With the HEICO-FORM Inserts, HEICO expands its portfolio with standardized solutions that combine straightforward integration, short procurement times and an attractive price-performance ratio.
