Carbomax®Bio is a new generation of masterbatch produced in pellet form and made of calcium carbonate and a blend of biodegradable polymers. It has been developed by CABAMIX, an innovative French company, to meet with the needs of bioplastics manufacturers and fulfilling the requirements of the European standard EN 13432, certified by TÜV Austria.

Suitable for different processing machines: film extrusion (blown or cast), injection, thermoforming.

Example of finished products:
• Plastic bags for fruits and vegetables, bakery, butcher…
• Organic waste bags
• Agricultural film: mulching film
• Single-use products (cutlery, dishes, cups …)
• Food packaging (thermoformed trays, packaging films, meshes, fillets …)

Advantages:
The quality of Carbomax®Bio has been specially developed for use in bioplastics made of polymers in order to:
- In the manufacturing process: avoid hydrolysis, stabilize the process, increase flow, reduce consumption of energy, in injection unmould more rapidly
- On the finished product: opacifier (less TiO2), colour white; depending on plastics base better mechanical properties of film, improved elongation, better tear resistance
- From 10% to 25% savings depending on the percentage of Carbomax®Bio
- Unique on the global market

Mixed with different materials / compounds available on the market today:
Carbomax®Bio can be mixed up to 50% in the formulation with various materials/compounds available on the market today: PBAT, PLA, PBS, starch and compounds made of these materials.

The calcium carbonate used is renewable according to ISO 14021 and meets the composting criteria according to EN 13432 (2000), NF T51-800 (2015), ASTM D6400 (2012) & ISO 17088 (2012)
