Greater Efficiency in the Drying, Conveying, and Dosing of Plastics
The plastics industry increasingly faces the constant challenge of not only developing innovative products but also ensuring efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Drying, dosing, conveying, and transporting materials are critical steps in plastic production that require precise handling and a focus on the overall efficiency of the process.
In this context, Labotek has developed groundbreaking solutions that not only reduce energy consumption but also enable significant cost savings.
An example of this is our central drying system. With our gravimetric DH drying container, it is possible to precisely measure the inflow and outflow of plastic granules using the "gain in weight" and "loss in weight" principles, allowing material drying to be managed on a new level – for the most gentle, safe, and energy-efficient Labotek drying. The Gravi-Dryer® can automatically adjust the drying time to the material throughput, independent of the bulk density, by gravimetrically measuring the throughput. It can slowly or quickly ramp up the material quantity at the start of production and gradually reduce it again towards the end of production. This ensures that over-drying due to excessively long residence times and material residues at the end of production become things of the past. The air volume is also individually adjusted and optimized for each drying container based on the mass throughput. Each drying container uses only as much air as is absolutely necessary. The central dry air generator automatically adjusts the supplied air volume to the required amount using frequency-controlled blowers. All material drying and handling functions are controlled by a central Labo-Net control system.
