Fakuma, the international trade fair for plastics processing, has officially launched its new digital trade fair platform Fakuma-Virtuell. Immediately after the postponement of the 2020 trade fair date to next year, the Schall trade fair company acted and officially opened the new digital meeting place for suppliers and users of industrial plastics processing. Here, in attractive and optimally structured virtual showrooms, exhibitors present their trade show highlights, product innovations and sustainability features in a compact manner, as well as their web-based presentations using the webcast function. Valuable leads and best business contacts are generated by the integrated individual problem-solving request on the Fakuma-Virtuell landing page for the international trade audience.

Fakuma is internationally regarded as the first port of call when it comes to injection molding, extrusion technology, thermoforming and 3D printing. It presents innovations in materials, machines, peripherals, processes, simulation, procedures, technologies and tools as well as plastics processing and machining – now also virtually. Industrial users in the sector need practically implementable and economical solutions for the upcoming and far-reaching digital transformation processes, all the more so in economically difficult times. Connectivity is therefore becoming increasingly common practice in Schall’s trade fair world. “Fakuma-Virtuell offers exhibitors a high level of benefit with comparatively little effort, especially in this exceptional year. To present virtually, the exhibitor simply uploads the information that is available for the trade show anyway in the common data formats. These are automatically cross-linked via the CMS. With the new, focused trade fair add-on, we quickly and easily achieve the required level of practice-oriented solutions for technological change. In this way, we continue to ensure sustainable success in the plastics industry,” explains trade fair director Bettina Schall.

Smart networked technology meeting place for Fakuma visitors

With the new virtual format of the 27th Fakuma, the globally unique trade fair event and every year with great joy awaited industry highlight offers from now on the additional and permanent possibility to inform oneself also digitally at a digital market place clearly and compactly about the premieres, product innovations and the important news of the exhibitors in the matter of sustainability. As is well known, the areas of environmental protection, sustainability, resource efficiency, circular economy and bioplastics are increasingly coming into focus.

On the virtual format of Fakuma, trade visitors can perfectly select the desired information by means of the integrated, thematically focused search engine via the stored trade show nomenclature or specifically obtain relevant hits for their business by entering keywords. The highlight of it, the generated hit list is functional. Thus, the visitor has the possibility to send an individual problem solution request to the exhibitors of these qualified search results, in order to work out specific solution approaches together afterwards, just like at the real trade fair. Suppliers and users can thus optimally embark on the joint path of achieving the best possible goals for everyday industrial practice. The Fakuma product and service portfolio is thus available to interested parties on an optimally structured and ongoing basis at the new virtual technology meeting point.

“We are convinced that Fakuma-Virtuell is a promising alternative in the current situation for obtaining uncomplicated information about trends in the industry. Visitors have the opportunity online to learn about many innovations in a very short time. At igus, under the motto “Tech up, Cost down. It’s our job.” this year alone, more than 100 motion plastics innovations that improve technology, reduce costs, and do so in a proven and sustainable way.” Oliver Cyrus, Head of Press & Advertising at Igus GmbH on the new opportunities at Fakuma.

However, Fakuma-Virtuell will definitely not replace the personal dialog from person to person. The plastics industry is looking optimistically to next year, when customers can again be invited directly and complex applications explained and developed in solid, individual contact. Schall does trade fairs for markets, for real markets. The next Fakuma International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing, will take place from October 12-16, 2021 in Friedrichshafen on the beautiful shores of Lake Constance, with the extended coverage of Fakuma-Virtuell.
